ECNL rosters would likely stay the same (~20 until U18/19 where it is higher), if all ex-DA clubs get in.  Rosters will grow if MA stays with the 4 local clubs since the opportunity for real evaluation will be minimal, and there will be a desire to give kids on both sides the benefit of the doubt. I suspect all ECNL clubs will be expected to have an RL team where unrostered players may play.[/quote]

What is the point of playing for a ECNL RL? Especially if the ECNL team isn’t in the Champions league.

The dirty little secret that ECNL backers don’t like to talk about is that the actual team your DD is on matters. If you’re not on a Champions League level team you are over paying for a 2nd, 3rd or 4th tier showcase team. And if your kid isn’t even starting on that team, then you’re wasting $5,000 on ego.

It sounds like you don't have a player in ECNL because that's actually not completely true. Scouts come to watch players, not teams. You do get more scouts at higher levels of showcase play because some coaches are speculating on the top players (who typically don't need it). There is plenty of scout attendance at all levels in ECNL showcases.
