The prosecution team has forensic digital (both phone records and chat records) evidence that Joe believed he was communicating with Christine B for two or three weeks, even friend witnesses that Joe spoke of a couple that he was getting involved with the wife before that day. So he believed according to all these sources that he was going into a consensual adult role-play and I do mean role play date with this woman and that it was intended to be ongoing. He was not going there to harm her in anyway. It was a "fake" or  role play date that he believed she wanted. He was NOT violent with women in real ways based on his past behavior. He was a role play person both in an adult way, and a larper and gamer and even did full dress up conventions and things. It was part of his personality and sexuality, a person that liked dramatics. So I knew him well and so what Brendan and the nanny did was not manipulate him well digitally and over the phone. I am also sure that he was an adrenaline junky and so for him just talking to people over the phone or online he might meet a woman for a playdate and not think it so strange for him. He took risks as a person being this kind of foolishly brave guy because his intent was always clear and so he let his guard down because he was a person who clear about who he was with everyone... a playful freak of a guy but a nice non violent man himself.
