Yes, you will see some pushing and shoving, not the serious unruliness that's commonplace outside Jefferson (Stuart Hobson, Eliot-Hine etc.), at least once teachers and staff are out of earshot. KIPP seems to be something of an exception - they train, empower and use student security monitors in cross guard vests to police the behavior of peers on the streets near their campuses. I haven't heard packs of kids shouting obscenities outside DC KIPP middle schools or those serving large cohorts of high SES kids. It's not PC to say it, but the Jefferson peer group is a real problem for many Brent parents, not just the academics. And the fix...is? [/quote]
