[/quote] I'm the PP who posted previously about family law in other states. I'm surprised that the initial hearing on these kids' placement is not for two weeks. This seems like a very long time to go without the ability for the parents (or L-GAL on behalf of the kids) to make the case before a judge that it is in the best interests of the kids to be returned to the parents with supervision. Or, for grandparents or relative to come forward to say that the kids should be placed with them rather than foster parents. Can anyone with actual family law experience in DC comment on this?[/quote]
