I have to say, when I appealed, I got my best advice from a sales clerk who didn't even speak English, bur she knew well enough how to file an appeal! I could just barely make out that she was telling me to 'appeal with a letter"
Are you saying that you only sent in a letter? No WISC?
Sorry not clear. Yes sent in WISC and some standardized test scores. But it was so odd to me that the school was saying "please, please please DONT send a LETTER" and the clerk was saying "... sen letta" Great advice and thanks. Picked out a nice tile for us also.
Why was the school trying to dissuade you from writing a letter? I don't follow the tile and clerk story (except that the clerk persuaded you to write a letter and helped you with tile).
PP Here: I have no idea. I was talking with the head of the program (Dr Horn). She was the "no letter" advocate while other (regular people, ie the store clerk) was like .. well write a letter duh. It wasn't nice to make fun of her accent, but I thought it was great advice at the time. I think the AAP program is a good one, but the appeals process is there for a reason, and if you think you DC would do well, then appeal.
