Well for the first 15 years of Bordley, he had no real competition. Even GP didn’t pay any real attention to fielding a team until 1995. Since then GP has been at least as good year in and year out.
Got a coach yet?
Shouldn’t be a problem. It’s only been a few days. A school that has won 14 of the past 16 Founders Cups will be OK.
Cool is that the trophy that golf tennis cross country swimming soccer all factors into? Sweet
It’s how the Conference keeps score. Fourteen out of the last 16 demonstrates athletic superiority. And it’s a lot better than crowing about lacrosse victories from the 1980s when no other school was even trying.
Episcopal and STA had some good teams in the 80s and early to mid 90s. STA was very good in the early 90s and ran with Landon every year. DeMatha and Good Counsel also fielded some competitive teams in the 90s. DeMatha even beat Landon a few times in the 90s if my memory serves me right. Ryken in Southern MD had some great teams but everyone forgets about the program in southern MD. Preps program started in the late 80s and really began to take off early 90s under Giblin. I wouldn’t say “no other school was even trying”.
