Surprised more people aren't discussing the WaPo article. Sounds like the dads are colossal bullies and totally misrepresenting what happened: https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2025/07/10/nysmith-school-antisemitism-lawsuit/
I’m sorry, did we read the same article??? The WaPo article does absolutely nothing to absolve the school, and in fact corroborates several of the allegations in the complaint. In it, Nysmith HIMSELF admits that: 1. He refused to book a Holocaust speaker because of “the situation in Gaza” 2. The expulsion happened because, in a meeting, he asked the parents if they were calling him antisemitic and “they did not say no … They did not, and kind of muddled back and forth. At which point I said, ‘This meeting is over.’” So he did a bunch of BLATANTLY antisemitic stuff (I don’t see how you can claim #1 above is not antisemitic, even if you don’t believe any of the many other allegations), and then when the parents had the temerity to question his highness, he instantly expelled all three of their kids. And then went and ADMITTED it all to the Washington Post. Again, who are this man’s lawyers??? He is single-handedly costing this school its reputation, money, legacy etc. because he’s so utterly convinced of his own rightness. Just gross and such a waste.
