So it’s an open secret he’s gay/bi? https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-14762231/Deborra-Lee-Furness-Hugh-Jackman-open-secrets-divorce.html
No. Everyone thinks he is because he's into musicals and seems kind of gay but who knows, right?
It’s not just that. rumors have persisted that he’s had off and on again relationships with men for decades now.
Rumors, rumors, rumors. Anybody can start a rumor about anyone without any evidence and people will continue to repeat a nasty rumor because it’s so juicy.
There’s as much evidence he’s gay as straight. On the gay side- adopted kids, seems gay, musical obsession. Literally sounds like NPH
WOW! Talk about a generalization of what makes a man gay! Kids adopted because wifey had TWO miscarriages. And I guess all the male singers and musicians in the music industry must be gay.
Sweetheart, I worked in Hollywood in my 20s and 30s. Basically all of the famous "straight" male actors are gay. It's been an open secret for decades.
This doesn't make sense. Brad Pitt? George Clooney? Mark Wahlburg? Ben Affleck?
Yes yes yes & couldn’t tell ya.
What a load of BS.
I mean, it just doesn’t seem statistically likely. 10% of the population is thought to be gay, and that’s being generous. So why would a majority of Hollywood be gay?
What percentage of theater kids are gay? Whatever that number is is what I'd expect to be reflected in Hollywood.
Exactly. Of course over 90% of drama boys are gay. And darn near 100% are gay when gay executives who can make or break their career and make them a multi-millionaire proposition them.
That’s not “being” gay, that’s engaging in homosexual behavior. Identity vs activity. There’s a difference.
This, and this is also why the chatter around certain heterosexual-presenting actors being "gay" is ultimately homophobic (especially when centered around actors people don't like). I have to assume the people who talk like this about celebs simply don't have any gay people in their lives. I have a lot of gay people in my life and while there is a lot of diversity in their personalities and the way they lead their lives, they all have one key thing in common -- they exclusively pursue sexual and romantic relationships with members of the same sex. That's it. Most of them have known they were gay since about high school, with the except of a few who realized it in college or after leaving very conservative, religious, or homophobic backgrounds. They are lawyers, doctors, high school teachers, artists, entrepreneurs, consultants, etc. None of them hide their sexual orientation at work. Most have experienced homophobia at some point and still experience it sometimes now, but generally feel welcomed and accepted in their communities. None of them would ever consider conducting decades long marriages to a member of the opposite sex, especially not marriages that produce kids, while *knowingly* being gay, because it's just... not necessary. You can get married and have kids as a gay person now. Or not, if you don't want to. Even if you are a celebrity or an actor. People just don't care that much, for the most part, and the people who DO care are also freaked out by straight women who stay single or don't have kids, or people who choose to live in cities, or people who don't subscribe to their specific religious beliefs. So basically the main contingent of homophobic people these days are people who hate all kinds of people for totally mundane things anyway, so even if you pretended to be straight to please them, they'd find something else to hate about you. Not worth it. It is believable that some percentage of Hollywood stars are bi or pansexual, and some of them probably choose to present as heterosexual because it's easier and more marketable to a wide audience. Heck, some of them may choose to present as simply gay for the same reasons. But that doesn't mean 90% of Hollywood is gay. Gay Hollywood actually looks a lot like gay people in law firms and government offices and your dentist or whatever. It's people like NPH, Colman Domingo, Jodie Foster, Jane Lynch, Ian McKellen, etc. There are many, many out gay people in Hollywood. No one really cares.
