Another nail in the coffin for the Democrats, Jeffries is awful. They aren't doing anything to help them regain popularity after their disastrous Kamala run.
Dems on this board seem to think the populist mood in this country translates to a desire to pass a pork laden bill for business as usual and that people will care if the federal government shuts down to change things. This type of massive disconnect with the public is why Harris lost.
After the Trump years and multiple shutdowns, including the longest shutdown ever, they've lost their power. No one cares anymore, which means the deadline, tonight, has lost its power. This isn't a good thing - in case you are confused. It's just more destruction of norms, increase in dysfunction.
The norm is 1500 page bills full of tucked in, kept in the dark spending. That’s a norm that needs to be destroyed.
You guys are clueless. A continuing resolution just combines all the appropriation bills they were supposed to enact before October 1. It’s not new content. It’s the stuff they were supposed to be doing all year long. Any Member who doesn’t understand what is in a continuing resolution should resign for total incompetence. This bill has been the main item on the House agenda since September.
