He is such damaged goods. Why would anyone want to get involved with such a hot mess?
this.
From the Page Six article: An Affleck insider tells Page Six that he is not ashamed of his need for solitude and is “proud of the fact that he always has and always will take care of himself.” “He has never— and seemingly will never— give himself over completely to another person,” they add.
When has he ever taken care of himself? When left to his own devices, he’s gambling money away and day drinking bottles of scotch and passed out on the couch before 11am. Ben always had his mother or a girlfriend to take care of him. When he moved to LA and went to Occidental College, he lived with a girlfriend. He actually chose his college based on where his high school gf went. He’s always been codependent on an assortment of women-namely his mother and his girlfriends and probably soon his daughters. Solitude is dangerous for Ben. We all remember the infamous pic of Jen driving Ben to rehab and he’s passed out in the passenger seat. He blamed Garner for his alcoholism and said the marriage made him feel trapped. He doesn’t appreciate any of the women in his life and the sacrifices they made to help him.
