It’s common for men with dementia to flash back to childhood somehow and believe their wives or their daughters or nurses are their mothers . When they find out that caretaker isn’t their mother, they can get confused, throw a hissy fit ,  and can even lash out or become violent . The brain is such a horrible thing to watch deteriorate. She’s using the words big boy and proud of you to play into what he thinks. The expression on his face when she said he answered all the questions reminded me of a little kid. I just starting plowing through this huge thread today and my comment has probably been pointed out by others.

IMO Jill Biden's "You answered all the questions" comment is the only ad the Trump campaign needs to run to show that Biden is no longer competent. That comment, and the silly, incoherent look on Joe Bidens face was more telling of what is going on than anything that happened in the debate. Biden needs to go. He has no chance of winning.[/quote]
