I recognized some of the faces at the tryout from the invite-only clinic that was held a week prior.  There were two courts "separated" by a "gym curtain."  I could not easily tell if the girls separated themselves or if the coaches/staff had some influence on where the girls warmed up and completed the initial drills.  It did seem that the invite-only girls were mostly on one side of the curtain, but that could just be my imagination.  The groups were separated for roughly 20 to 30 minutes for warm-ups and serving/serve-receive drills.  The entire group was together on one court for setting/hitting and  scrimmaging/queens to end the tryout.

At the end of the tryout, DD heard that one new-to-PVC player was given an offer on the spot (player had attended multiple pre-tryout clinics including the invite-only).  I also heard that another new-to-PVC player ... one who was NOT at the 16s tryout, but did attend the invite-only a week earlier ... was evaluated on the next day (Saturday) and was given an offer.[/quote]
