Most of the masses are not sneaking across the border, they are presenting themselves at legal points of entry with asylum claims yet 80%+ of the asylum claims do not meet the criteria for being admitted for asylum.  And we KNOW this based on historic info from hearings.  BUT our laws do not allow them to be deported UNTIL they have a hearing.  And, there is a massive backlog in hearings, because we do not have enough hearing officials to clear that backlog.  So we are stuck with stupidity and a broken system.  Yet I DO NOT hear a single Republican actually proposing any meaningful fixes like proposing a surging staff to have enough officials to process them and hear their claims on the spot so that they can be turned around and sent back where they came from.  Why not?  Why do we ONLY hear this stupid HR 2 "Build The Wall 2.0" stupidity when the wall can't stop a flood of people legally presenting themselves with asylum claims.[/quote]

This is BS.
Mayorkas said, prior to the repeal of Title 42 that any migrant entering illegally would be deported using Title 8.  Of course, they are not doing that because this administration is worthless... but the question remains.  If they can make that threat then, why haven't they been deporting these people all along using Title 8?

"Starting at midnight, people who arrive at our southern border will be subject to our immigration enforcement authorities under Title Eight of the United States Code," Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said at a White House briefing Thursday afternoon. "Here is what that means. If anyone arrives at our southern border after midnight tonight, they will be presumed ineligible for asylum and subject to steeper consequences for unlawful entry, including a minimum five-year ban on reentry and potential criminal prosecution," he warned.

"The transition to Title Eight processing will be swift and immediate," he said.
