I actually am very anti-gun, but I live in reality and I know that there are hundreds of millions of guns in this country. I know they are in our schools. I can say “I want gun reform” until I’m out of breath. That won’t take away the guns (and ghost guns) in this region. It won’t take away the people with ill intent who plan to use them. Until someone can make this a gun-free utopia, I want my children as safe from harm as can be. That includes having SROs in schools. You are incorrect. The officers are now split among school clusters, so they aren’t forming the same relationships with individual schools as they once were. It is NOT the same. Some of us clearly want the old model back. [/quote] They work in teams so they have coverage and students can form relationships with more than 1 sworn officer or one they can relate to better.
