These posts here are really out of touch. MoCo reelects these same members of the BoE year after year in landslide victories. It's clear the majority of us support them and their policies and just a few malcontents posting mostly disinformation to push their regressive agendas.
If everyone could only vote for board members in their OWN districts (to weaken the Apple Ballot influence), it might not be such a "landslide".. I would be interested to see the in which districts the greatest number of ballots are cast, though. I'm guessing there is some voting pocket out there that's hijacked the voting representation for the other districts?
Because teachers only live in some school board districts but not in others? That seems like a problem.
Why would anyone want to weaken the Apple ballot? Most of us vote the Apple ballot because they are the best candidates.
Because behind the Apple Ballot is the Teacher's Union and they only care about the teachers. No one is looking out for students because the MCPS leadership and the Teacher's Union are in bed together. What organized group is really looking out for the students besides the local PTSAs?
Most us support teachers and it sounds resent public education, teachers, and unions.
I very much support teachers too but as someone who is friends and whose family members are teachers, I know that the Union asks for some things that do more harm for students. Principals are no longer able to lead according to what's best for their students because they must constantly comply with MCPS central leadership and the Union.
