Sweetheart you chose virtual academy because you said it was such a superior educational option because you're a superior parent! So great for you! And then your kids can do distance learning for college and a get a virtual job and never leave the house. And it sounds like the makings of a horror film but whatever it sure it's making you really happy! Congratulations! Let the normal people have our conversation about how this is going to work
I never said it was superior. It depends on the teacher. We had some pretty crappy years in person with bad teachers. We have flexible kids who are fine in either setting. We also are very involved and support them. You should try being an involved parent. I said it was safer. We will return in person when MCPS can come up with a clear plan to keep kids safe. Clearly parents here aren't willing so if they don't, who will. Its not going to work well and your attitude is to pretend everything is fine and who cares about the spread or if anyone gets sick as long as your needs are met. I feel bad for your kids given how little you care. Many people have virtual jobs. Nothing special about being in an office with a 1-2 hours commute. But, wait, if you were home working, you might have to see your kids every once in a while. Really, given what type of person you are, we get why they need to be out of the house as much as possible.
Being an involved parent meant putting my kid back in the environment where she would learn best. Plus I am an essential worker so I don't get to stay at home and fart around in front of the computer in my jammies. No 2 hour commute for me, it's a 5 minute drive or a 20 minute walk.
