So there are 500,000 dead, the economy is teetering, President Biden has a wildly popular bill to address both the economy and COVID and the GOP is distracting you all with this idiocy. Congrats.
The people determined to cancel these books started this idiocy.
You mean the people who own the copyright and have an absolute right to print or not print them? Does the GOP now stand for try us government forcing copyright holders to publish against their will? The same GOP that went apeshit over the completely made up possibility that the government might force people to eat broccoli?
. DP. Yeah, they have a right, but that doesn't mean they aren't idiots.
You’re an idiot.
Only because I disagree with you, not because what I said wasn't true. Does having a right make you smarter than if you don't?
There’s nothing idiotic about a business trying to preserve its brand and avoiding insulting its customers with racist images. They probably realized a minority of the country is racist and really wants to buy books with racist pictures, but it appears they thought those folks desires werent worth the cost. That’s how the free market works.
And there is nothing idiotic about thinking that maybe they should have done something different. It is however idiotic to call someone idiotic for just for disagreeing with you then repeating the same thing you've been saying for 40 pages as if it were new information. This argument is about racism. It is about power. I can't control the publisher and have no desire to. But you want to control me and you can't do that. Reflect on this.
You’re the one who started calling people idiots for disagreeing with you. I don’t want to control you. I have no idea who you are and have no desire to. Reflect on that.
No I disagreed with them because I didn't think the image was racist and probably neither did they, but they were too afraid of the woke movement to just forget about it. And it probably wouldn't have hurt their brand because those people probably already were not buying their books. Confirming my opinion Ebay dropped those books too today, which really is bad for their brand because people go there to buy all sorts of old crap that other people don't approve of, far worse stuff than Dr. Seuss. So I have my reasons, which you knew nothing about. You didn't ask. Of course you didn't. Nobody does. You just called me a name and explained to me some old platitudes about business for the umpteenth time, as if that were my "real" problem. So if you think my problem is something else rather than exactly what I say, then I'll say your problem is something else too. Your quest for power to stop me from saying it. And I'll say that until you realize the futility of calling other people idiots to their face every time they open their mouths.
DP. The lack of self reflection in your comment is pretty impressive. You started calling people idiotic for disagreeing with you. The fact that you have reasons (fairly standard reasons that no one really needed to ask you for to understand) for having a different opinion doesn't change that in the least. The fact that you then decide to lecture people about the "futility" of something you started is striking. I even agree with you about some of the books (the Mulberry Street picture doesn't seem racist to me), but geez man, do you hear yourself?
