OMG.  I don't think that they had any way of knowing that he would have a violent outburst like that.  They probably thought it would do him some good to get out of the house and they may have been worried to leave him alone so they opted to bring him along.[/quote]

He was only recently taken off his meds so his parents may have underestimated the psychosis that he was experiencing.  I think that they truly loved their son and were doing the best that they knew how to do for him.  [/quote]

Then they failed. Bringing a large, unmedicated schizpphrenic man to a public space is not something you do just to test things out. I don't doubt that they loved their son, but you don't get to endanger others just because you love your adult son w/ issues. [/quote]
