He is tweeting about declaring an emergency to push the wall through without Congress again this morning.
He mentioned this the other day. Claims he can declare an emergency and then use military funding on the wall. So why is the government shut down if he doesn't need Congress to fund the wall? This is one heck of a slippery slope. At that point, the President can declare anything a national emergency and spend military funds on it.
I think he is going to do it.
Republican's are going to hate it when the next Democratic President declares a national emergency and uses military funds for some pet project... The truth of the matter is, an emergency is an acute and sudden problem. A national emergency is not a boarder that's been in existence since we won the Mexican-American War. Examples of emergencies: Pearl Harbor, 9-11, hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis, tornados, plane crashes, fires, etc. Examples of non-emergencies: A boarder that's been in existence since 1848, our airports are old and embarrassing, pot holes, natural disaster preparation, missing dessert.
The chocolate cake from Mir-a-Lago? He’s sad he didn’t get to go.
