But most of the posts on here from parents of LD kids don't seem to feel that way.  I think there are varying degrees of LDs, and some kids might be ok with a curriculum based on CC standards, but perhaps a lot are not.  I don't know. I don't have a kid with an LD.[/quote]

I have a child with profound LD and watering down the curriculum is not the answer.  The problem is that the way to teach children with LD costs more than school systems are willing to pay, so they snooker parents into thinking their children are not capable of successfully learning the curriculum.   Children with LDs need two types of education, the curriculum and intense remediation for their LD.  It takes more time and more resources, nether of which school systems are willing to provide. So, you are saying that you think a lot of kids with LDs *can* achieve the CC standards, but that they just need a lot more help.  Well, that is contrary to what OP and others have been saying about their LD kids, and supports the opposing view that there is nothing wrong with CC standards.  Your problem, and perhaps those of others, is just that the LD child needs a lot more help than schools are willing to give.  Totally different issue to "Common Core's epic fail: Special Education".
