You act as though either Denmark or the US will own Greenland. And more plausible scenario is that the US will own it, or China or Russia will. Denmark is not capable of defending Greenland. NATO is supposed to be a shared defense organization. Not a "you can eff around, spend nothing on defense, and America will come rescue you" organization. I really don't give a crap how Europeans feel about any of this. You do realize that they have free health care and incredible social benefits, while expecting us to pay for their defense. How is that fair to poor Americans? I'm not okay with this. They can either step up and pull their weight, or we will take Greenland and more. And furthermore, if they want to seek protection from Russia rather than us, they will be in an even worse boat. They have completely given up- stagnant economies, moronic decisions like closing nuclear plants so now high energy bills and worse pollution, no defense, no children and no future. [/quote]

No. You're making things up now. The same European nations that are countering us right now, countered us with the Global War on Terror. Jacques Chiroc famously tried to stop the Iraq war on the grounds that it was, in his words, a violation of international law. He threatened to use France's veto power at the UN security council. Germany agreed, which is why we pulled our troops out and closed our bases in Germany. PP,  if you view international relations as being just like a marriage, you are dangerously naive and out of your depth. [/quote]

I won't weigh in either way. The point is, you're totally wrong that we have great relationships with these nations and that Trump is suddenly threatening the international balance of power. Things have been deteriorating with them for decades now, and we cannot rely on them to do basically anything. They won't even sit there and shut up while we fight for their oil- they actively sabotage our efforts to protect Europe. When China and Russia come for Greenland, Denmark will not protect it. The 13 soldiers that Germany rounded up and deployed to Greenland also will not be able to protect it. You need to grow up and realize that Greenland is too hot a commodity to continue to be held by a nation as weak as Denmark and decide whose side your on: Russia, China, or the US. [/quote]
