An independent study just found that 90% of their detainees have never committed a violent crime.

The violent/nonviolent distinction is meaningless.  Identity theft, distribution of fentanyl, possession of child pornography, and possessing a handgun after a felony conviction are all nonviolent crimes.  Do you think those types of criminals shouldn’t be deported?[/quote]

DP...  Studies and FOIAs of ICE's own data show that apart from crossing the border, more than 90% of them didn't commit [i]any kind of crime whatsoever.[/i]  No criminal history, no prior convictions, nothing.

DP- I would add that the Supreme Court has ruled numerous times that simply being in the country in and of itself was a not a crime. [/quote]  Many of them are in felony violation of the law that was passed in the 1940s requiring registration with the federal government.[/quote]
