The smartest kids of all are those who don't rush in the first place and find other things to do with their time.
Sorry you didn’t get a bid.
Considering I chose a school deliberately with no Greek system, that's a-ok with me! My own kid is smart enough not to bother with rush at their school. Sorry yours isn't.
The only point you're making here is that you're an a$$hole. -NP
No, greek life is for morons. The whole buying your friends thing, hazing, etc is utterly ridiculous. I went to UF the amount of back stabbing at Chi O house or Kappas or Tri Delt etc why in the world would anyone want their kid involved in this crap? Rapes at frats were standard, books about who was the best at sex etc. Books about women in general from the frats common knowledge. And paying for your kid to have "friends" nope.
I was greek (sorority) and have a middling view of it. But, there was zero hazing among sororities (can't say the same about frats). Frats were pretty misogynistic, also, I agree. Though more prevalent in certain houses. Having said that, sororities are no different than any other group. Yes, you "pay dues" but that is to support the house and activities. Green club, intramurals, and other clubs also have fees (just less so) and provide a way to associate with like-minded people. You're still "buying" friends, just not at the price tag. So that is a wholly idiotic, and not terribly original, slur.
