New Yorkers.
Really? I think they are interesting, engaging, and tend to be great storytellers. The only people I know who do not like New Yorkers tend to be those who have spent little, if any, time in New York, sadly. If you are not a city person, I get it - but New York people don't call you Country Bumpkins - so don't fault them for being born and raised somewhere else, because then it suggests you may hate yourself. DC is not the only place in the world, try to explore more places.
This is so funny because New Yorkers are the ones who think nowhere exists outside of New York. And that people born and raised in what they call “flyover” are lesser . I want to say to each and every one of them- hey, manhattan is not the only place in the world! Try to explore more places!
They like a lot of places, globally. They just tend to sneer at most of the US outside of a few major cities, but they are generally passport holders who travel a lot ("unlike the rubes in flyover country...:)
A lot of New Yorkers barely leave the city. Especially if they are from there and their family is there. The New Yorkers who travel a lot are either (1) suuuuuuper rich, so they can afford both COL in NYC and to travel extensively, and (2) are from somewhere else, necessitating at least some travel to see family. Born and bred New Yorkers can be very insular. They can have other good qualities, but IME do not tend to be very worldly. Sure, they will tell you about how great Zabars is but have very little interest in anything that is not NY-centric.
