If you were turning 18 after July 1, you had to wait until 21 to drink legally. Thus, as a member of the Wheaton class of 1982, half of my friends could drink and the other half couldn't. I and my best friend were born late in 1982, so we went to American Cafe in Friendship Heights and other DC bars.[/quote]
