A-type, striving, ambitious kids that want these prestigious jobs, given two roughly equivalent universities and everything being equal, may choose UVA over W&M simply because the ceiling is higher (or ceiling has higher probability).[/quote]

Type A people may want to be doctors, lawyers, academics, scientists, work in the foreign service or government, work for a startup or start their own businesses, or work in entertainment or marketing.  Goldman Sachs is a very narrow view of goals (and a company with an utterly appalling role in the 2008 financial crisis).[/quote]
