Gaza is the vctim of Hamas terrorism and the predictable a justifiable response.  What nation would consent to leave such actors on their border?  Maybe the status quo ante was suboptimal for the non-Hamas Gazans, assuming there were any people there who were not incubating them, but the path to change chosen by Hamas was both indefensible by any civilized people and ineffective in accomplising anything beyond fratricide - Hamas actions are the direct cause of the casualties in Gaza.  To pretend otherwise is disingenuous.[/quote]
