Oklahoma celtic to GA… wow big time stealing an RL club.
This is actually a huge win for GA. Very solid club in OKC with a lot of potential.
the GA hats justifying a mid to bottom level RL team from Oklahoma. this cracks me up.
Your wife told me yesterday she thinks you're too obsessed with ECNL. She ssid it's because you are "lacking in another area." And for the 1000th time, GA parents don't wear hats or visors. It's the nerdy, insecure ECNL dads who buy them.
personal attacks are the last refuge of a scoundrel. both my daughters played GA. 1 in DA when it went bankrupt.full stop. just not a fan of GA picking up scraps to overextend so they don't go bankrupt again. but go on
Its not possible to "overextend" theres too much money in youth sports as long as you're charging parents. DA fell appart because they tried to provide free soccer to Acadamy players. At the end of the dinner someone has to pick up the check.
you are right about the money issue but most parents are too dumb to understand their average betsy team in RL moving to GA is no better. I think the poster stating overextend used the wrong word. GA is accepting really average teams and diluting itself, quantity over quality is what they are doing and trying to grab market share. when my daughters team was not playing last Dec showcase in Norco (champions club) I walked around and watched a lot of games in their "showcase" for other clubs/teams. the quality was just not there and I never saw more than 3 college coaches at any "showcase" game (not including the champions club games) so what is the point or worth?
This is easily proven false. How could they dilute in Oklahoma City if they did not have a team in OKC. It's smart strategy to have teams in larger populations centers across the country. In a few years Celtic could overtake OK Energy FC as the top team in OKC, they are well positioned for this. Is OKC one of the top markets in the US for soccer? No, but it is a market with potential.
