Trump's social media video garners pushback from Arabs and Muslims in U.S. and Gaza https://www.npr.org/2025/02/26/nx-s1-5309695/trump-gaza-video Faye Nemer, CEO and founder of the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) American Chamber of Commerce in Dearborn, Michigan, called the video "offensive and counterproductive to peace talks" in a statement to NPR. Nemer, who says she voted for Trump in November, is calling on him to remove the video and issue a "reconciliatory statement." When asked about the video and the president's messaging about Gaza, the White House reinforced his previous statements.
IMO the Muslims who cared about Gaza who did not support Biden are the ultimate FAFO. We warned them over and over that Trump was going to be worse for Gaza than Harris, but they did not want listen. They FAFO.
This I have some friends who live in Michigan and I have absolutely zero compassion for anyone of Middle Eastern descent or anyone who cared about Palestine and voted for Trump.. ... They were very simplistic and short-sighted in their vote and I really do not care what happens to them or Gaza at this point
I hear you. It's really hard to keep extending compassion to people who voted against their own interests and then complain or cry about it later.
Literally, every working class and middle class voter who has voted for a corporate Dem or Republican in every election is voting against their own material interest. What the hell are you talking about?
Stop equating dems and reps, they are not the same.
DP. You are right, they aren't the same. Which is why I have been a steady dem voter since I was in college. But the democratic leadership, along with a majority of the democratic reps/senators are a problem. They have been okay with the status quo for the less advantaged people in this country, while becoming more corporate over time. They need to embrace populism and make way for a younger generation of leaders who are passionate and ready to fight for the people. I feel like dems really screw over their base because we know that they are better than republicans and have no better options at the ballot box. They gave us Trump by pushing Hilary over Bernie. Then they did it again by sticking with Joe for so long. It would have been great to have a real primary. That we didn't was 100% on the democrats. Yes, Trump is awful. But I have a faint hope that this wakes up the dems to change course.
Trump stole the election. While Dems need to evolve, and Joe will go down as second-worst president in history, this election isn’t on them.
