It’s official, VRSC will be in GA for 24-25 season. Will FCV’s players now move as a group to VRSC? Doing so would seem to be the path that best mimics what they experienced at FCV in recent years.
Nice try, Niko! Without those FCV GA players, you're going to be the Mid-Atlantic's door mat!
Why would those FCV GA players choose a GA program with an entirely new GA coaching staff and leadership and unknown field situation over a GA program with nearly the same coaching staff they’re familiar with (and that built the FCV program into what it is today) at the same fields they currently practice on? What is FCV’s pitch for why players should stay at FCV rather than move as a group to VRFC?
as my friend told Me. They have a short 24hrs to commit (gunpt)… w rev not realizing the teams want to stay n play together or break apart completely. Buddy said if their kiddo will move to rev only if the whole team commits. As such their kid is practicing w other ecnl teams trying identify which teams kiddo can play in/with
Prisoner’s Dilemma, except the current FCV GA players can talk to each other. It’s clearly in their collective interest to stick together, whether at FCV or VRSC, which are the only clubs that can accommodate FCV’s current GA teams in full. I still don’t see why they would choose the uncertainty that FCV is offering over the continuity that VRSC is offering, but either option strikes me as a good one for the players if they stick together. Splintering is the worst outcome for them, other than perhaps for the top handful of players on each team who can crack into the ECNL teams at Loudoun, McLean, or VDA.
