First of all, nobody said there were more coaches. They said it was a more competitive tournament and that it is a more serious recruiting event. Again, coach attendance is high at Winter Escape because it is timed to the annual NFHCA meeting. Sunshine Showcase is second only to NCCs in determining the strongest clubs in the country. Secondly, many, many coaches don't put their names on the website list. My DD's head coach from her D1 program is heading down there today, will be there all weekend, and neither her name nor her university is listed. I'm sorry that your player's club chose Winter Escape instead of Disney. There are reasons that coaches do this, and hopefully it was a fun trip, but it just isn't as competitive an experience. I might add, Disney is really fun, too. We went for many years and during DD's senior year, we went for extra days, and did the parks. So fun--I miss it.[/quote]

Having done these tournaments for years, MANY coaches will come that are not listed on the tournament web site. You always send emails to schools you are interested in even if not on the list! [/quote]

I’m confused. Why would my DD email a coach that is potentially not going to the Sunshine Showcase? Wouldn’t that be a waste of time to contact them if they are not going to be there? Will they be annoyed at my DD for emailing them assuming they will be there when there’s a very good chance they will not be there? Why wouldn’t Sunshine Showcase list all of the college coaches that would be in attendance? It seems like it would be a simple thing to update the list as the coaches commit. [/quote]

How do you plan to indentify all the coaches? Start by watching the top clubs in their pool play and see how many are on the sidelines?[/quote]
