I just can’t wrap my head around choosing murder over divorce. Whoever did this is dumb and evil. Of course, I honestly can’t imagine hiring someone I know almost nothing about to live in my home and care for my children either. The whole thing is awful. That poor girl.
A lot of men in the military or law enforcement who have pensions feel pretty strongly that they don't want to share their pensions with their ex-wives... not any portion of it. They feel entitled to have it all -- the pensions, the house, the kids and the young girlfriend. BB may have been "LE" --- but sounds like he spent most of his time at the IRS -- which means he wasn't all that savvy about how crimes like murder are investigated or prosecuted. He was more of a financial crimes guy.
Yes, agree and I really don’t think you can underestimate the hubris of a middle aged man who has a doting young girlfriend, a job that evokes images of power, intelligence and authority, and the desire for material goods like new cars. Police love it when they have a suspect who thinks they are smarter than the police. The truth is that police have all the resources and experience to catch them out. It happens all the time that criminals think they are way smarter than the average bear, and can be easily outsmart the bumbling police. Look at the criminology student murderer in Idaho. He certainly thought he could get away with murder because of his expertise. He probably thought he was in the clear because it took so long for police to finally nail him.
All of this, wish it could be pinned.
