It had to be a short fight. the girlfriend reports and phone records show that he was on the phone with her 5 minutes for the police arrived. it is difficult to be in a phone conversation and bashing someone's head into the ground. When the police arrived, Trayvon was already dead so this attack had to be extremely brief.  It is also quite possible that given he was being followed and harassed by Zimmerman that any aggression by Trayvon was self-defense.

If Trayvon was so aggressive that Z felt justified to shoot him, wouldn't Trayvon likely hit him unconscious by hitting his head repeatedly against the sidewalk...so I'm still unsure how Z got under him and didn't just flick him off, he was a tiny teen compared to Z. And how was Z able to get to his gun when he was in fact repeatedly hit against the sidewalk? This whole story doesn't make sense!![/quote]
