So much bad karma in this thread! Can't wait until it slaps you in the face
Good Karma, my friend. Years of shit and in this past year I saw my kid's long hated coach lose his license, another d*ck head get fired, a few caught in embezzlement...and now the DA disbanded. Karma is wonderful.
You should add the d*ck head parents that like to gossip/rat on other players and kiss coach's *ss now without a DA patch.
Here's the thing. All of you who are happy, I get it -- there is a lot of bad blood in the DMV soccer area. Coaches, clubs, parents. You know who doesn't have bad blood for the most part, though? The players. My DA player still knows and is friends with all the girls who chose ECNL. She will be fine going to play with them. And note that you get what you wish for -- not ALL, but many DA players are going to displace the bench at the ECNL clubs. So the landscape changes for EVERYONE, not just the DA players. And stop shitting on the kids -- karma may be wonderful, but you have no right to dance around when a HS sophomore or junior just had their world blown up - and they did NOTHING to you. Maybe their club is filled with assholes, maybe you don't think their team is as good as your team at a given age, etc. But this is about kids playing a game.
This just shows how little the kids mean to US Soccer. US Soccer did not care how kids were affected by the age group change and they clearly do not care about the kids now. Cancelling DA now may be convenient for them, but it is horrendous for the players. Given the current circumstances, players are not able to try out for new teams. Clubs will not be able to hold tryouts - but they will want to get revenue - l can see current clubs offering all of their current players while asking for some sort of financial commitment from families. It would make it tough for an incoming player to take the spot of an incumbent. Of course some clubs will have no objection to over filling rosters. It really screws over the 03 players needing a new team as they are going from a U17 team to a U19 team (where rosters are already full having 1/2 the 02s and all of the 03s). 02 get the shaft as well, but they (and some 03s) have been able to talk to colleges this year.
