Jen gets slammed for over sharing her private life, but when she doesn’t share, y’all go searching… 🙄
She mostly gets slammed for over sharing her kids’ life details (thankfully this has slowed down a LOT) or for over-stating the status of her relationships (with Tyler, kids, and girlfriends), over stating success of work projects (fake it til you make it?) and definitely over stating the state of her emotional health (healed/whole? nope). Also slammed for the various therapist-client lines crossed, which was very very deserved. The search you mention is probably for authentic truth. That would be like her admitting she got cosmetic work done instead of claiming she just bounced back with effort. Or admitting that her and Tyler are still in defining stages instead of madly in love. If she wants to truly help other women: be honest. A casual game night with consistent friends is a good start for an authentic post. Except it didn’t come from her anyway. It is also is the kind of dull post that reminds us she’s no longer semi-celebrity status anyway as pp stated, but she still somewhat has the audience for it. They’re dropping off more and more so maybe she will gracefully fade away from public eye too. This is no longer the Jen of a fun home renovation show and genuinely helpful writings with a family everyone wants to learn from (and her getting her floors stained today is not the same thing, especially as it’s being paid for with her riches from selling Bible-centric books she no longer even believes in). Everyone got played. Jen got rich, but lost her marriage and her mental health (and the mental health of some of her kids) in the process. Cautionary tale for the rest of us. Many of us invested years in her daily posts and just haven’t been able to look away from the train wreck it became. Adding to frustrations is that she allows NO conversation on her socials unless it 100% affirms and supports her. No challenges. Which is also a good reminder that her socials are no longer the socials of a public figure who can handle discussion/push-back, but it’s just her personal, carefully-curated, shrine to herself.
