Like there’s no guarantee that your 1570 kid will get in anywhere where even one other student scored over 1400. The solutions to that situation are basically “be more sophisticated,” ie, the burden falls entirely on the families to navigate a complicated system that in many respects is designed to confuse you and extract money from you. Elite schools are so focused on their own priorities that they wind up talking as if it would be totally fine with them if the majority of 1570 kids did not get into college anywhere at all.[/quote]
