Hi! Did the counselors say which year of class the Naviance scattergram represented? Was it Class of 24 or 25? Thanks!

If you look at the Naviance scattergram for schools like UVA, VT, and UMD where many TJ kids apply, you will see the horizontal line which indicates average GPA. VT and UMD: 4.1 to 4.2 UVA: 4.3 to 4.3 So my best guess is the distribution is as follows: 4.0 and below: 15% 4.0 to 4.2: 25% 4.2 to 4.4: 45% 4.4 and above: 15%
How does Naviance work? Is the 4.1 to 4.3 at VT just those kids of TJ that applied? If so, would then think GPA higher for the TJ kids who apply to the MIT etc schools.
Not sure where you are getting this. For last year, the AVERAGE stats for a TJ kids getting into VT was 4.36GPA and 1541SAT for UVA it was 4.48GPA and 1553SAT
In last week’s junior parents “college info” session (zoom), they told us that the content we see in Navience is for TJ only. In addition, it captures GPA at the END of senior year. Important to be aware of bc apparently end of senior year GPAs are a little higher bc of how many APs loaded in. Maybe that’s wrong but it’s what was shared.

Naviance scattergram data points show just SAT and GPA, and it's limited data reported by school from multiple years. In a another product SchoolLinks, used by other school systems, the admission year is also shown.
Naviance is the last three years of applicants from the school plotted on the graphs. The GPAs are final grades and they are typically lower when applying as most TJ senior courses are post-AP or AP classes that are weighted a 4.5 or 5.
