My husband grew up in Florida and left for college and never went back except rarely. He hated the car culture etc. there’s a reason the saying is All the Nuts Roll Downhill to Florida.

I think we should have had a national service requirement for everyone so we all had to experience some hardship even if self imposed. Maybe that would have helped to build national community across race and class. [/quote]
