I’ve had three kids go through the travel system, and it’s clear many of you don’t understand how it actually works. They’re all the same age, and guest-playing from the first team down to the second or third when a roster is short happens all the time. A first team player guesting for a lower level team in the next age group? Also completely normal. This flexibility should exist and does exist in every well run club. The only time it becomes a problem is when parents get involved or when players guest with a different club. As I mentioned, my three kids came through seven different clubs. Every single one did this. If you’re upset, critique the system as a whole not the individual club.
We have been to several local clubs and this never happened. Ever. Kids guest play up a team or up an age group. I flat out do not believe that you saw this at 7 different local clubs. No way. Sorry, Valor shill.
You don't have to believe me, it's a fact. Son played at VDA and guest played with VSA because they were short players in the older age group and his team was not participating. Daughter guest played from Loudoun Red to Black often. Arlington, happens all the time...especially in younger age groups. I can go on name dropping other clubs all day, Valor for all its issue is no different. Look up club pass, it's a thing for clubs to leverage to move kids between teams within a club. Sorry pal, I've been around the block too many times and trying to give you all perspective. Ignore it and call me names, that attitude is why you aren't mentally ready for travel sports as a parent. Your child will struggle because of your own doing.
