Wrong.  Of the 177 placements out of South Lakes last year, 33 were to TJHSST as opposed to 29 to Langley and 11 to Oakton.  So by no means were "most" of the 177 transfers (i.e., over 88) to Langley and Oakton.  The number of Herndon students who transferred to South Lakes last year (164) was far greater than the number transferring out of South Lakes to any single school.

Of course, most of the students transferring out of Herndon to South Lakes aren't seeking IB.  They are seeking to avoid Herndon or to stay with kids they'd attended MS AAP with at Hughes, which feeds into South Lakes.    [/quote]

what is the threshold where schools close down to pupil placing? langley takes in around 100 now. with spring hill island being rezoned langley will go up to 102-103%. seems like at 105 they should not take any more pupil placements since that’s what FCPS is considering overcrowded. and at any school that’s being considered for rezoning due to over capacity all pupil placements should be sent back first [/quote]
