Yes to this.  Schools that have treated the surrounding neighborhood as legitimate stakeholders and even partners in their campus building projects -- St. Albans and Sidwell Freinds are good examples -- have had successful, relatively smooth processes and have maintained long term,  good relationships with their communities.[/quote]
