The problem is if the family gives their verbal but then looks/commits elsewhere. I would imagine there is a large intersection of coaches who offer in November are the same coaches who will be vindictive. This is especially problematic for kids that aren't the top 1-2 kids. They cannot afford to burn any bridges and these coaches are preying on that fear.[/quote]

I was always wondering about this once you get to U13/GA/ECNL. I know at the younger ages you can switch teams at any time as long as you pay your full balance. Your player card is your player card.[/quote]

That is how clubs should function. STJ charges you $1500 for a player card at u12. I can't imagine what they charge for u13 and older.[/quote]
