WCAC girls lax line up is looking good with the prevailing thought being that GC will sweep this. At least that's what I read in a recent thread. I also read that SJC didn't have a chance with Visi and we see how that turned out. I'm sure SR wasn't expecting a loss to PVI and well, that happened, too! It's been a wild season of unexpected wins and losses. Any day can be your day. So, WCAC, in my opinion, is a toss-up. Any of the schools advancing can win and each of the schools will give one another a run for its money. They each better come ready to play. Each of those teams are stacked with really talented D1-D3 commits going to the best programs in the country. I don't think I've seen this much high-level talent in the WCAC, ever. Who wants it the most? That is the question. Everyone is chasing GC who has so much, talent, is well coached and has a defense that you have to figure out. If you don't, forget it - you will lose. They are flawless and unrelenting. I don't know if they have the most talent, they just play so well tell together. They are the most fun to watch. Coaching is going to matter and that is going to hurt at least one team (maybe 2). I'm not trying to be mean, so won't mention names. Despite it all, I have my money on SJC. Feels like they are fighting for respect because no one wants to give it to them. I see a few posts debating them being tier 1 or 2 talent, doubting them. There is a ton of talent on the SJC team - similar to talent on all other top teams and most of the girls are teammates on Capital. They are stacked with Ivy commits which is different (and honestly impressive) who I suspect could have gone to any top 10 program in the country. I have seen them play. The girls are some of the top players in the area. They also have a freshman who will run through you, formidable attackers and midi line that can go toe to toe with anyone. Defense has to step up in a big way, draw needs to go their way, and they have to figure out how to stay hot and not be careless with the ball (a SJC weakness). When they are hot, they are hot. Now, maybe they'll use those big Ivy brains (and all other big brains on the team) and lax smarts and figure out how to bring a girls lacrosse championship to SJC. Of the 4-teams advancing, they may be the only one not to have ever won a championship. I could be wrong. Sit back. It's going to be a fun week of WCAC girls' lacrosse. A total toss up despite me betting on SJC.
