Wanna know what is in this monstrosity known as the Build Back Better Bill? Thread: [twitter]https://twitter.com/JasonSmithMO/status/1456651462214356997[/twitter] Do you like paying $3 per gallon for gas? DC Dems' spending spree is fueling the HIGHEST INFLATION in 4 decades. Another $4.5 trillion in government spending should help that... (3/x) $330 BILLION more in incentives for people to reap government benefits while sitting at home that showing up to work - that should help labor participation that is 1.8 million workers behind where the Congressional Budget Office says we should be. (4/x) Debt limit!!!...Remember that topic? Anyone? Well good news, this bill makes it WORSE by adding $3 TRILLION in NEW debt. (5/x) Are IRS audits your thing? Would you like doing them annually? Starting on page 1923, this bill has $80 BILLION to DOUBLE the number of IRS agents... (6/x) Decisions. Decisions. Spend more on the wealthy 1% or more on working families. Easy decision I suppose for Democrats. The tax break they inserted giving millionaires a $23k tax cut is more than double the cost of what they spend on the children or earned income tax credits.(7/x) Based on the average home price and average income, a constituent of Nancy Pelosi would be eligible for $82,000 for a government subsidy to help buy a new home. No typo there. $82,000! (8/x) Families making $500,000 shouldn't be given subsidies for luxury electric vehicles? Well, on page 1480, the bill includes a $12,500 tax break for them to purchase EVs in this bill. Targeted relief indeed! (9/x) Do you think illegal immigration and open borders are a problem now? Wait until the cartel hears about the benefits under this bill, which includes $100 billion for BACKDOOR AMNESTY with 5-year renewable work visas. (10/x) But wait! If you’re wealthy, the news gets better. On page 226, taxpayers will be paying for your kids to go to preschool. And on page 1065, the wealthy get taxpayer-funded paid leave…over $3200 for a month! Surely "building back better" does something about the border crisis, right? Nope. “Border Security” and "Border Control" is listed in the 2100+ pages exactly ZERO times. Getting Americans out of Afghanistan? Zero mentions. Surely there's something about holding China accountable for covid, right? Nope, zero. Nada. Nothing. But hey! If you've been thinking about buying a taxpayer-funded electric bike, this is the bill for you! It’s in there. And after Thursday afternoon's revision, they quietly slipped an additional 10 pages into the bill late Thursday night. What did they add? Funny you ask, an additional $7,500 of tax relief for the 1%! If you're keeping score at home, that’s on top of the $250 billion in this bill to restore a tax break for the wealthiest of the wealthy. I repeat: ONE OF THE LARGEST PROGRAMS IN THIS BILL IS A TAX BREAK FOR MILLIONAIRES. Speaker Pelosi says this bill is “for the kids” and “for families”. Then why do families with two kids under 6 see a tax increase of $3,200 in 14 months under this bill while millionaires get a $27,000 tax cut? Ah, priorities priorities. Democrats say, “OUR BILL PUTS FAMILIES FIRST”. Ok…$20 million for plants, desert fish, and butterflies. Each. All ahead of families in this bill!
