The administration has alienated both teachers and parents. And they DGAF. Why should they? The school board that hires them is utterly unresponsive to the concerns of either parents or teachers. The admin knows the SB thinks of themselves as good liberals first and foremost, and is in thrall to whatever the latest social trend is.Which is why in the midst of a pandemic, we’re getting a push for Standards based grades that NO ONE asked for, from a superintendent who himself made the motion to lower state standards.

Arlingtonians should stop voting for these party regulars. The chair, Kanninnen, doesn’t even want the job anymore, else she wouldn’t have run for county board. So you can bet she cares more about internal county Democratic politics more than the job at hand. Listen, you can be a Democrat and not vote for these junior varsity candidates, who are simply chosen on the basis of not causing trouble for the varsity squad — the county board. With the exception of Priddy, none of our SB has children in the APS system. Maybe if they did, they’d pay a little more heed to parents concerns. [/quote]

Kanninen has always had her eye on County Board or other higher office.  SB has always been her stepping stone.  She just hasn't been able to step off yet like others have.
