As bad as the actions of the employee were, I'm aghast that the police cooperated.  After she showed her room key, I think it was truly inappropriate for the police to demand her name and to identify her from her license plate.  She proved by showing a room key that she was a patron of the hotel and that she was entitled to use the pool.  There was no crime and there was no cause to pull her identification.  Just more racial profiling.  The police were on the right side in answering the call and assisting with the inquiry into the visitors use of the hotel facilities.  But once she showed her room key, they should have left as this was an internal matter for the business to resolve and no longer required police support.[/quote]
