LOVE the natural look though I'm sure some people prefer the lye-based, hair-straightening chemicals that they wouldn't even put in their own hair. She looks fabulous!!
You say this like she hasn't sported a straightened look for years. Truly, if you are taking aim at lye lovers, you should start with MO.
Hmmm, I think another person has done some touches here and there to her, ahem, naturally blond hair.
Also, I wonder how you would've reacted to MO wearing this 'natural' style in the WH while attending banquets, state dinners, official receptions, etc? MO is a smart woman and knows a great percentage of folks would've complained. I know there were many days when she probably wanted to just kick the lye to curb. And you know this.
How would I know this? There is an easy way to find out whether MO decided a "natural" style is unacceptable in the White House. Locate her photos before the White House and see how she wore it then, when she was free of public person pressure. I don't know that people would have complained about "natural" hair. It's not about natural vs. not, it's about the final result and execution. If it looked good, no one would complain. For what it's worth, I find that straightened AA hair often looks lifeless and limp. But I have a daughter with super curly hair so I certainly sympathize with the amount of work it takes to make it look good. It's a solid 20 minutes a day routine (on short hair!), and most mornings just don't have that.
Spare us your quibble that some people wouldn't have complained about MO's 'natural hair' and the final result and execution. Some states now have to pass laws to protect the wearing of natural hair. PP, you say if it looked good no one would complain? Hell, she looked fabulous in a sleeveless dress and certain people, certain TV stations, and certain websites loss their ever lovin' minds.
