Its funny you think it doesnt.

Some clubs (San Diego Surf comes to mind) make more money hosting tournaments than they do from fielding teams. If a percentage of teams no longer attended your events because they're BY and youve changed to SY thats money you're no longer going to make.

I'm sure some of the MLS clubs host tournaments and are concerned that staying BY will dramatically affect attendance. Also woukd you do BY for boys and SY for girls?[/quote]
