Incredibly powerful ad from Democracy 2025. “If I need my country to stand for anything, I need it to stand for these women.”
I just don’t understand how someone could have the information presented in this video and still say a total abortion ban is better for anyone.
I’m going to keep saying it because it’s the relevant bit: women aren’t people in the GOP. They don’t care who gets hurt so long as women are getting punished because we don’t matter to them. Look at the way JD talks about women. Look at the way Donald treats women in addition to talking about women “bleeding from their wherever.”
I used to roll my eyes when I heard stuff like this. But over the past decade or so, it has seemed more and more true. When I read the above post I thought, “Yeah. That’s pretty much it.” Makes me sad. It also makes me never, ever want to smile and play nice again.
I’m the one who keeps saying it on the abortion threads, but I challenge anyone to prove otherwise. When faced with evidence of the early damage (for the long term damage won’t begin to be seen for a while) their forced birther policies are causing, the GOP answer is to ignore it. The only time they treat rape with any seriousness is when it’s alleged to have been done by immigrants or LGBTQ people. They have a steady stream of crap for Vice President Harris is unfit, but the subtext is always “she’s a woman.” Their big political wishes include taking away women’s right to vote, birth control, ending no fault divorce, generally forcing women out of the public and into the home. Their two duo loathe women with every fiber of their being, with JD constantly being caught in some recent-ish tape of him saying how terrible women are in various ways. Women aren’t people in the GOP.
+1000
