1. You haven't "carried" anything. This was my first post on the thread.
2. WTH is the College of Charleston? I mean, is that supposed to be a slam? Because I'm not from South. Also I'm not sure why all those stylistic preferences bother you; I'm guessing you have a special interest in them.
3. Where did I say that ubiquity makes the blandification of America acceptable? I didn't. Just pointing out that it is happening everywhere, and it's probably not the transplants' fault. The city has changed hugely since I moved here ten years ago, and it's not all good, but it's not entirely negative, either.[/quote]
